Police say a newly hired jewelry-store worker in New York stole a ring worth nearly $8,000.
Michael Raftu allegedly took the jewelry on his first day at John Hardy SoHo Boutique, DNA Info reports.
He left and turned it over to an accomplice named Breanna Bronson, authorities said. He allegedly asked her to pawn it.
Authorities have charged Raftu with a count of grand larceny and Bronson with possessing stolen property, DNA Info reports, citing Manhattan District Attorney's office documents.
California Jewelry Store Robbed at Gunpoint
Robbers burst into a jewelry story in Caruthers, CA, held a clerk at gunpoint and stole cash and jewelry totaling over $10,000, police said. The Fresno Bee reports that police are looking for three suspects in the June 9 robbery of Joyeria Krystal. The culprits fled in a car.
